About the Artist
Karla Beatty grew up in Bound Brook, New Jersey. She studied painting in New York and Boston. After years of painting landscapes and portraits, she started working in science illustration and discovered the Botanical Illustration certificate program and the Denver Botanic Gardens. The illustration courses honed her skills in drawing and painting with watercolors. Karla now teaches classes in graphite drawing and watercolor painting in the US and Mexico. Her artwork is in books, magazines, and private collections nationwide.
